La Venexiana

Gabriele Palomba | artistic director

La Venexiana relishes the sound of the Renaissance and Baroque with passion and an irrepressible joy in music making. The freedom of this music is animated by the smallest details with finesse, style, perfect intonation, homogeneity and beautiful tone.

La Venexiana, founded by Claudio Cavina and now lead by Gabriele Palomba, earned its reputation as leading Italian ensemble in the field of Early Music also due to the prizes it won for its highly recommended CDs. Their recordings of madrigals by d’India, Luzzaschi, Marenzio, Gesualdo and the complete recording of the madrigal books and operas by Monteverdi on GLOSSA have won acclaim worldwide. On the occasion of Monteverdi’s 450th birthday, the ensemble gave concerts and opera performances all over Europe, including Schwetzingen, Zurich, Halle, Venice and Lisbon.

Reviews
